Sakis Zachariades

Sakis Zachariades is one of  the current Jazz-fusion guitarists in Greece. 

He is a masterful jazz improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between rock fusion,and modern jazz.   

Sakis   started on guitar at an early age   in Thessaloniki  conservatories  and in 1993 enrolled in  Musicians Institute of Los Angeles  (aka G.I.T.)   to study with famous artists of Jazz - Rock music scene (Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Norman Brown, Frank Gambale etc.)

During his studies he had the opportunity to also attend regular seminars by top world musicians 

(Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Joe Pass, Stanley Jordan, etc.)

Since 1996 he has taught in the most important Conservatories of Thessaloniki Greece

. Some of the most memorable moments along the way are:

  1997: concert at Lycabetus Theater with pop band "Ble"

• 2000: Concert in the Constitution Square for the Millennium with "Ble"

• 2004: Two collaborations with his Philharmonic Orchestra

  Thessaloniki Municipality and concerts in the Megaron Mousikis Thessaloniki.

• He has been awarded two consecutive years to musicians competitions:

• Makemusic Contest 2004, (composition)  organizer   IEK AKMH 

• Makemusic Contest 2005 (1st Improvising Award) organizer IEK AKMH

  also in the competition

 "Music Powered By Technology 2004 contest" organizer IEK Homer

                 • 2008   Release of his first personal album (It all sounds Greek to me) with Jazz Fusion's compositions.

             Concert at Technopolis-Gazi in the framework of the European Music Day

  Young Orchestra of Kalamaria under the direction of Mimis Plessas.

                            • 2010 Collaborates with the State OrchestraThessaloniki to celebrate European Day

 composer Vitalij Kuprij

• 2014 release of his second personal album

 (Soundays) with his original compositions.

 Video recording and video presentation of his record 

 for the municipal TV TV100 and the music broadcast

 Participation and representation of Greece in

 annual international Eco Jazz Festival of Perelik.  ( Bulgaria )

 Participating in 0the production of National Film Univercity  

  AUTh with regard to acoustic behavior of

 Electric Guitar in Anechoic Chamber and Lecture on

 Department of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

 With the theme "Improvisation in Music and Architecture"

 Since 2016 he has been a permanent member of one of the most historic

 ensembles of the Greek Rock Music "Babies on Fire »
